They did remove his collar today. The docs did not see any additional traumas and felt this was a safe decision. Within the next day or two another doc will be checking on the compression in his vertabrae to determine treatment.
He is still fighting the pneumonia. They are hoping that once he is cleared regarding the vertabrae that his being up and moving should help this along.
I just keep telling myself that this is the story of the tortoise and the hare.
Remember that we are still at #14 due to a technicality.

Don't worry, Bink, sometimes it takes Brian over two hours to count from 11-14 and he still gets it wrong:) Hang in there, Erika; you've got to take care of you also and I'm sure he'll understand. He's in good hands also, so that should put you at ease. Take care and let us know if there's anything you need before coming home (we all know that's right around the corner now!)

We are all so relieved that he is finally awake and it sounds like he is really doing better and things are looking up. And don't be discouraged, I'm sure there were times during the obx trip that it would of taken bink 2 hours to count from 11-14, shoot there were times it would of taken all of us that long, LOL!!
